Dance Curriculum Toolkit

The performers in this video are known as, Diversity, and are a dance group from the UK.  This video aired on the TV show, "Got to Dance", in 2014.  I chose this video as an additional resource because it has the ability to reach a large demographic of people while still delivering a positive message about the importance of diversity.  The songs chosen for this performance both deal with serious issues.  The first song, "Read All About It (Pt. III)" by Emeli Sande, talks about believeing in oneself and striving to make a change for the better.  The second song, "Caught Up" by Usher, deals with, in this context, peer pressure.  The song talks about not being able to control thoughts or actions because of the distraction of another.  I feel it is important to share resources such as this one because this high-entertainment group is out in the world sharing a a valuable lesson with the world while doing what they love.  Students should know that every little bit makes a difference and if they can find a way to help create a better world doing what they love, more power to them!
